The Challenge: Two Businesses, One Brand

Mandy came to K Design Co. with something a lot of ambitious entrepreneurs run into… she was multi-passionate, multi-talented and her business wasn’t just one thing… it was both, a chef-prepared, plant-based meal delivery service and a food and DIY blog, and she wanted a brand that could hold both without feeling random or scattered.

On top of that, Mandy was running her meal delivery business mostly from her Instagram account. Weekly menus went out in her posts and stories, orders came in through DMs, and payment happened over Venmo. It worked, in the sense that people were ordering, but it felt like juggling act. There was no where for her brand to call home and there was no easy way for customers to browse a menu and order, and no system that made her look (or feel) like the legitimate, professional business she was actually already running.

Mandy also had a very specific feeling in mind for the aesthetic: warm, but high-end. Not coldly minimal but also not overly rustic-farmhouse either. Something that felt like being welcomed into her beautifully designed kitchen. That combination of legitimizing a DM-and-Venmo operation into a real business, while holding two offerings together under one warm, elevated brand was the brief that we worked to solve together.

The Brand: Warm, Light, Fresh

We built BASK’s brand identity under my Mini Brand service offering, developing the brand personality and visual system with a stylish, yet simple, customized wordmark, ideal for a founder who needed something cohesive and elevated, fast.

  • Brand personality: Warm. Light. Fresh. Every design decision from the logo, color, type, photography direction was filtered through those three words, so the brand stayed consistent whether Mandy was writing a blog post or shipping a week of meals.
  • Color palette: We built out a primary and secondary palette rooted in Cream, Oat, Cedar, and Olive (a warm, earthy neutral base) that photographs beautifully next to real food, supported by Almond, Latte, and Café for depth and contrast. Nothing too stark.
  • Typography: An editorial sans-serif for headlines gives BASK its high-end feel, paired with a clean, modern sans for body copy and a delicate script accent which we used sparingly, for a personal, handwritten touch throughout the brand (Mandy signs things “xo, Mandy,” and the script mirrors that warmth).
  • Logo system: Rather than a single logo, we built out a full system she could use across her website and collateral needed for her meal delivery service: a Primary wordmark for most applications, a Seal version for social and casual use, and a Monogram for smaller, supporting brand moments. That flexibility meant Mandy had a logo that could scale from a mason jar label to a website hero section.

The Website: One Week Website

With the brand foundation in place, we moved into Mandy’s One Week Website, a fully customized Showit website designed to hold both sides of her business without asking visitors to choose. The site needed to work to:

  • A storefront for her weekly plant-based meal delivery service (previously she was operating only on Instagram)
  • An organized content home for her food recipes and DIY blog
  • A brand experience that felt as elevated online as the quality of her food in real life

The final result is a warm, editorial-style site that leans into soft natural light, real food photography (shot by Mandy herself), and generous white space, letting the brand’s color palette do the heavy lifting of making everything feel cohesive, whether someone landed on a recipe post or her member-only meal ordering page.

We also built Mandy a custom weekly menu order form connected directly to her business Stripe account so she no longer had to rely on DMs or Venmo for payment. This is a self-service system she links out to her members every week, replacing the old back-and-forth of DM orders and manual payment collection. Members simply browse that week’s menu and order directly, giving Mandy her time back and giving her customers the smooth, professional ordering experience they’d expect from a real meal delivery business.

The Extras: Labels & Menu Design

A brand isn’t just a website, for a business like BASK, it lives on the actual product. For Mandy, that meant she needed designed brand materials she could update herself as her menus changed, so together, we also created:

  • Mason jar lid labels for Mandy’s meal delivery line, applying the brand’s circular seal logo, color palette, and typography to create packaging that feels as premium as the meals inside.
  • Weekly meal delivery packaging labels, including recipe/reheating instructions, dietary call-outs, and Mandy’s signature “xo” sign-off — small details that reinforce the personal, high-end feel with every delivery she makes
  • Weekly menu template, to highlight new dishes, descriptions, macros, without needing a designer every single week, while every update still stays perfectly on-brand

The Result

BASK by Mandy launched with a brand and website that finally matched the caliber of what she was creating in the kitchen, warm enough to feel personal, polished enough to feel premium, and flexible enough to grow across her meal delivery service, her content, and everything in between.
