Client Bio
Melissa Greenwell is an executive leadership coach who works with C‑suite executives and senior leaders navigating growth, complexity, and transformation. With more than 30 years of experience, including time spent as a Chief Human Resources Officer, Melissa brings a rare blend of strategy and people‑first leadership to her work.
When Melissa came to K Design Co., she already had a strong, established brand and a respected reputation as the author of Money on the Table, a book focused on gender‑balanced leadership. However, her website no longer reflected where her business was headed. She was ready to step away from a book‑centric platform and reposition her online presence to support her evolving work as an executive coach.
The goal wasn’t to start from scratch…
Melissa wanted to refine, elevate, and realign her digital presence so it clearly communicated her depth of experience, her disciplined coaching methodology, and the impact she helps leaders achieve.

This final website was designed and launched in just one week through our One-Week Website service, without sacrificing clarity, polish, or strategy.
Melissa’s primary objective was to transition her website from an author‑focused platform into a polished, high‑trust destination for executive coaching services.
Specifically, she wanted to:
Melissa’s work is nuanced and substantial. Her coaching approach is rooted in decades of real‑world leadership experience of building high‑performing teams, navigating mergers and acquisitions, and leading organizations through transformation.
To communicate that level of depth, her services required thoughtful explanation and specificity. The challenge wasn’t a lack of clarity, but how to present rich, detailed content in a way that felt compelling rather than overwhelming.
Our task was to design a site that invited people to read, explore, and stay engaged, while still maintaining the confidence and authority expected by an executive audience.
We began with one of our Showit website templates as a foundation, then transformed it entirely to align with Melissa’s brand, voice, and goals. The final result is a website that feels polished, striking, and cohesive, without being overly decorative or trendy.
To support readability and engagement across longer‑form content, we focused on:
This approach allowed us to showcase detailed service descriptions while keeping the experience approachable and engaging.

To ensure the messaging matched Melissa’s expertise and perspective, we collaborated with copywriter Sarah Derbecker to refine and elevate the site copy. Together, we moved away from generic leadership language and instead highlighted Melissa’s disciplined, process‑driven approach, one shaped by her firsthand experience hiring and working with executive coaches in corporate environments.
This distinction became a key differentiator throughout the site, clearly communicating why Melissa’s work stands apart.
Melissa’s brand photography, captured by Rachel Fischer Images, plays a central role in the site experience. Rather than relying solely on abstract visuals or corporate stock imagery, we used authentic, professional portraits to reinforce trust and human connection, an essential element for a service built on relationship and credibility.
A few of my favorite details on Melissa’s new site are:

Beyond the website, Melissa partnered with us for ongoing social media design support, specifically for LinkedIn, where much of her audience already spends time.
We created a series of branded graphics designed to:
Through this process, we also observed that some of Melissa’s strongest‑performing posts were those featuring her brand photography. While cohesive graphics are valuable for continuity, we found that human‑centered visuals often drive deeper engagement, especially for personalized, high‑trust service providers.

The final website successfully repositioned Melissa’s brand, from author‑led to coaching‑focused, without losing the credibility she had already built.
The new site:
Paired with cohesive LinkedIn design support, Melissa now has a digital presence that reflects both her authority and her people‑first approach, supporting her work as a trusted partner to executive leaders.
“Kristin helped me describe, position and brand my services in a way that was clear and inspiring. As always my experience was fantastic! The project was well organized and completed on time! Kristin thinks of all the details and offers solid guidance which is so much appreciated by someone who is not super tech savvy. The work product is awesome.”
