Sooo… you’ve heard about WordPress and you’re wondering if it’s a blessing, a curse, or just what everyone else is using for their website.
Here’s the thing: WordPress is kind of like the OG of website platforms… super powerful, great for blogging, endless plugin options, but it’s also kind of a beast and can be intimidating if you’re new to websites.
I won’t deny that WordPress is insanely customizable… but it can also be wildly confusing if you’re not a developer or super tech-savvy. You might be thinking: “Isn’t this what everyone uses for blogging?” Yes. But that doesn’t mean it’s always the most user-friendly.
If trying to design on WordPress (or just thinking about it) has ever made you want to scream, I promise, it’s not just you.
Why I broke up with WordPress (kinda)
For several years, I loved working in WordPress and creating websites with it, but one thing that was a real roadblock for me was always having to work with a developer to make my sites look custom AND make them actually work.
I wrestled and fumbled around in WordPress with DIY page builders like Divi, Beaver Builder, and Elementor, but too often still needed HTML and CSS skills to truly make a website look unique.
I was tired of the limitations and that sweaty panic WordPress would induce…. The endless Googling. The plugin updates that break your layout. (Eekkk!!)
That’s why I started searching for a website builder that could not only help me cut down on the amount of tech skills needed, but also help me create websites faster and more easily support clients with their sites after their launch.
Showit to the rescue
Enter Showit – a website platform seriously in a league of its own. When Showit first came on my radar, it sounded too good to be true… but it wasn’t. (It was even better!)
I found tons of gorgeous websites created with Showit (like Jasmine Star’s and Jenna Kutcher’s) and was quickly convinced to make the switch after a crisis hit with one of my website projects…
I had hired a WordPress developer to build a custom site for a client using a different page builder… and let’s just say, it was not cute. They crammed my design into some basic WP template, and the final site looked like a knockoff version of what I originally had designed. I felt sick… but there was no way I was letting my client walk away with a site that bad.
So I did what any determined designer would do: scrapped it and rebuilt the whole thing in Showit, from scratch in a single weekend. The difference was night and day.
It looked better than what I originally imagined, all WITHOUT code.
That moment sealed it for me. I moved my own site to Showit and launched my Showit website template shop soon after. I haven’t looked back since.
Real human chat support for tech emergencies
One other game-changer for me with Showit is that that they have chat, ticket, and emergency support. This means if you have a serious issue come up, you can talk with an actual human from Showit support. This support is rolled into the monthly hosting cost AKA it doesn’t cost any extra!
No other WordPress theme I know of offers the same level of support like this. If you have a problem or need support for your WordPress website using a different builder (which inevitably you will), you usually have to pay extra, wait forever to hear from them, and/or find a third-party developer or company to do it for you. Or go down a rabbit hole of Stack Exchange threads and Google searches to try to fix the problem yourself.
This is why I call Showit my secret weapon because it truly is all the things I’ve ever wanted and needed in a website for my own business and as a tool to design website for my clients.
Switching to Showit really was a no-brainer and one of the best decisions I have EVER made in my business.
TL;DR – You can keep the best of WordPress… without the headache
If you’ve been on the fence about switching to Showit, or trying to choose between Showit vs WordPress – there’s good news!
You don’t have to give up plugins, SEO, or your blog. But you can give up frustration, clunky page builders, and boring templates. Trust me, if you want a site that’s easy to edit, feels like your brand, and doesn’t make you want to cry? Showit is the move, friend.
But I’m not a designer…
Guess what? You don’t have to be. My Showit templates come with everything already laid out for you to create a completely DIY website: sales pages, about pages, opt-ins, testimonials, all drag-and-drop ready.
PLUS, you get a customization course, icons, a copywriting guide, and 60 days of support from ME. You just make it yours and I’ll be there to help if you get stuck. I’ve got hundreds of customers who’ve already created and launched their own websites.
I think it’s your turn now.
