You’ve been sitting on the idea of a new website for months or maybe even longer. You know your current site doesn’t represent where your business actually is… and every time you send someone to it you cringe a little inside.
But a full custom website feels like a 6-8+ week commitment that you don’t have time for. And a template feels like… well, a template and a whole other chore that you don’t have time for.
A One Week Website is the thing in between. Here’s exactly what it looks like, what’s included, and how to know if it’s right for you.
What is a One Week Website?
It’s a professionally designed Showit website, built from a Showit template as a starting point and made completely yours over the course of five focused days. This is not a template you have to customize yourself or just another site that looks like everyone else’s. It’s real + beautiful, actual website, built by a web designer (that’s me), in a week.
What to Expect Before the Week Starts
Before we start, we do a kickoff call together a week or two before. We review your questionnaire and chat through your offers, your clients, your vision, what’s not working about your current site.
After that, I share your website content + blog doc with you and you sign off on it before we start designing. Nothing gets built until we’re fully aligned on everything.
I give you a small list of homework items for you to work on before our week gets started:
- Setup your Showit account* + grant me designer access
- Share your domain credentials
- Share your brand assets: logo, colors, fonts, brand photography
Quick note on the brand side… if you don’t have a logo or brand yet, the best move is to book a Mini Brand with me first. (It’s a smaller, sprint-based version of my brand design service that we can knock out in 2 days, the week before we start your website.)
We can use template’s built-in fonts and a font-based logo as a starting point in a pinch, but the more complete your brand is coming in, the more you’re going to love your site once it’s finished – I promise. If I’ve already designed your brand, honestly that’s even better because that means I already know your style inside and out and the week flows even faster.
What the Week Actually Looks Like
- Monday — Homepage + Site Foundation This is where we set the foundation for your website visually. I focus on the homepage design, site-wide styles, fonts, colors, spacing, the overall look and feel. I also set up the menu, footer, mobile navigation. By end of day you have a link to review your homepage directly on the site and leave comments. Takes you about 30 minutes max.
- Tuesday — About Page I start by working through your Monday feedback first, then move into your about page. Same review process at end of day.
- Wednesday — Services Page Your services page is where visitors decide whether to book, so this one gets a lot of attention. By Wednesday evening I also connect your domain so you have a coming soon page live while we finish building behind the scenes. Showit starts setting up your blog integration in the background.
- Thursday — Additional Service Pages + Supporting Pages Any additional service pages, landing pages, or supporting pages based on your specific needs.
- Friday — Contact Page + Blog – By end of day Friday your site is 95% complete. Most clients are excited by how much we’re able to accomplish in just 5 days.
The Weekend + Launch
You spend the weekend doing a final review (or just taking a break!) I don’t need your final feedback until end of day Monday. So by Tuesday I can complete any last requests and I will also handle your:
- Keyword research
- All meta titles + SEO descriptions written for every page
- Publishing your blog posts
- Connect Google Analytics
- Submit site to Google Search Console
….then we launch!
After launch, I record custom tutorial videos just for your site, showing you exactly how to update your text, swap images, add testimonials, and maintain it yourself without ever having to call me. (But you still totally can if you want to!)
I also recently started including a HUGE bonus for my clients with their One Week Website which is a 30-day marketing plan that includes a whole social media content calendar and set of blog topic ideas for the month following your launch. So after your site is live you actually know what to do to get people to your new site.
Websites in Action
Every website ends up having it’s own unique flair. Here a few recent projects that have launched…
Why Work With Me??
I overdeliver. Always. Sometimes that looks like custom coding a tooltip or animation to make a section feel more elevated. Sometimes it’s creating custom brand images when a client’s existing photos aren’t going to do her justice. Sometimes it’s a marketing plan she didn’t ask for but needed.
I do whatever it takes to make your project a success, even if it wasn’t in the contract. Not because I have to. Because I want your site to actually be good and bring you new clients.
Who a One-Week Website Is Perfect for
The One Week Website was made for service-based business owners who have been running their business for a while and know their site just isn’t up to the level they want it.
If you are a coach, an educator, an author, a consultant, a therapist, this is perfect for you. If you feel like your current website doesn’t reflect the quality of your work or the season of business you’re in, you are who I built this offer for!
This is for if you know what your services are AND you know who your audience is AND you are ready to have a website you are proud to send people to AND that makes you money.
Who a One-Week Website is NOT for
A One Week Website really works well because of the focus and momentum we get by keeping the site build to one week. If any of the following requirements sound like what you’re looking for, a fully custom website project timeline is probably a better fit:
- You have a very specific + super-fancy vision that you believe will require a ton of collaboration
- You need more than 6-7 pages or complex custom functionality — e-commerce, membership platforms, booking systems with specific payment requirements
- You’re not sure about your offers yet or expect to make big decisions about your business that might change how things are structured.
- You want to be heavily involved in every design decision (the week moves fast and requires you to trust the process)
The week gets derailed when new information surfaces mid-build like a new service we didn’t plan for, functionality that wasn’t discussed, a big direction change on Wednesday. If this sounds like it could be your situation, a longer custom project gives us more room to breathe and more time for you to give feedback.
What Does It Actually Cost?
At $4,500 your One Week Website includes EVERYTHING… the Showit template (a $649 value you’d be buying anyway), a week of web design work, website copy, full SEO setup, Google Analytics + Search Console connected, custom tutorial videos, 3 blog posts, and a 30-day marketing plan to hit the ground running after launch. This is a TOTAL website + launch package.
If you’re not ready to pay in full upfront, that’s why I offer payment plans through Afterpay/ Affirm, so you can get your website launched now and pay over time.
FAQs About a One Week Website
Nope! That’s part of what I do. We work through your copy together before the week starts so everything is ready to go on Monday.
Showit. In my opinion it’s the best website platform for service-based business owners who want total creative freedom and a site that looks completely custom without needing a developer.
Life happens!! Just let me know. Giving morning feedback works just as well as in the evening. The key to getting the most from the experience is just making sure to stay in communication so I’m not building a new page without sign-off on the last one.
Honestly, not much. Plan for about 30 minutes each evening to review the day’s work and leave feedback directly on the site. That’s it. The less you have to do is kind of the whole point 🙂
I give you all the videos and tutorials you’ll need to maintain your site on your own on a day-to-day basis for the basics. However, if there’s something small we’ve missed like a typo or broken link, I’ll take ownership of it to fix for you even after we launch. Bigger changes or additions beyond the original site design can be handled through a follow-up VIP Day, one-time Support Call or hourly request.
I don’t just hand you your site and run! I want to make sure you feel supported through the entire process, even after you launch.
Ready to Book?
Because I give each client my full attention for the week, I only book one at a time. If you’re ready to stop putting this off, here’s where to start →
Not sure if a One Week Website or a VIP Day is right for your situation? Shoot me a message and here and I’d love to help you sort it out.
